Workers Compensation Insurance Is Now Mandatory for All Contractors

A one-person company doesn't need workers' compensation insurance, right? Not anymore, according to the California State Senate. Senate Bill 216, signed into law by Governor Newsom on September 30, 2022, requires all licensed contractors in California to carry workers' compensation coverage, even if the company doesn't have any employees, and was previously exempt from this requirement. This includes businessowners working in concrete, HVAC, metal fabrication, tree trimming, and many more lines of work. No employees, but need workers' comp - confusing right? Not for Kindred Insurance Solutions. Let us walk you through the process and help you find the right coverage for your contracting business. The new regulations will be enforced beginning on January 1st, 2023. That's only weeks away! Click the chat button or give us a call today to get the ball rolling, and start the new year off in full compliance!
